Listening to this I was again struck by the similarities between klezmer and other musical traditions: Turkish, Roma, Ukrainian… Wie share deep roots, even if each cultural group makes them very much their own. Note: I neglected to say that the Klezmer Conservatory Band are the ones that start off this video.

Once again, I love this video: so joyous and warm! it’s extraordinary how they all communicate with their instruments, their voices, their eyes, their whole bodies! and they all seem to have such fun! they are a joy to look at and listen to! Have a very merry christmas Anne!
