The birds are twittering away, and my running shoes are wet. Spring is coming. We went to the beergarden in Menterschwaige today and sat in a big puddle – or was it a small lake? – for our first outdoor beer of the season. Bliss!  Through the windows we saw a woman busily washing the windows. I love work, I could watch it all day. (Har, har, har.) Last night I dreamt that someone had cleaned up my office and sorted all of my paedagogical cards and things into nice little compartments, and my desk was neat and tidy and I could actually think. Now, that’s a sign, isn’t it? Time to do some spring cleaning.

  1. Hi Anne,

Yes, I don’t even mind the rain today, it’s all so Spring-like – I love it.

Perhaps it comes from being a Spring child, birthday in Jauary – you can calculate the rest.

Encouraging to hear I’m not the only one suffocating in mission not accomplished re office organisation.

So, here’s to us and our big office Spring-clean, and when it’s over …

I’ll update you all on the pleasures of orderliness and finding things at my finger-tips.

    ‘Till the next time, Joan

  2. Hi Joan,
Glad your energy is back, too 🙂
    We need it:
This is my cleaning routine: I make piles of similar things, very satisfying. And then something urgent comes up. And what happens? Either the piles just sit there and merge back into the chaos, or I put them, half-baked as they are, into a box. Unless that box is very well thought out, I won’t find the stuff when I need it. Groan!
    Take care,
    Anne

  3. And I thought I was the only one — actually, I didn’t.

I do that with my taxes and that always spoils spring for me somewhat. Got the piles out the other day again and re-organized them. Then something else more interesting came along and the piles are just sitting there — again. But this time they have to stay out until they’ve been completely worked through. That puts a damper on spring. The only advantage is that it very effectively keeps me from doing any other spring cleaning. You see, I have these piles of receipts and invoices that have to be dealt with first….
