Scrutinizing Scrum

A few months ago I first heard about agile planning methods in software development from Christian and now Helmut is busy reading up on Scrum. Scrum is a project management method which focusses completely on the customer and the quality of the product. How? It progresses in very short cycles to develop a product and checks that progress consistently.

Overboard

This is a slightly embarrassing story, but the reactions it’s been getting tell me: You have to make a fool of yourself and tell everyone about it from time to time. So here goes. Down in Croatia with ABC Wassersport, on board the Taiga, a 37 foot Bavaria sailboat, I managed to go overboard.

Bear ways

Elisabeth Gilbert: Stern Men

Her heroine is an independent, smart and plucky 19 year-old girl called Ruth who fritters away the summer on a remote island populated by oddball lobstermen who are feuding with the lobstermen on a second island. Ruth is back after four years of boarding school, and in fact the island of her childhood is too small for her. She needs a job, and a lover would be nice, too.

The pleasant poetry of Genesis

The 1925 trial against John Scopes for teaching the theory of evolution in Tennessee was the first U.S. trial to be broadcast on national radio and is still making waves. Today many of the states in the US require public schools to teach the creation of the world according to the book of Genesis on par with Darwin’s theory of evolution.
