Beatles: All you need is love

I met two German teachers from Ukraine yesterday who are taking a course to brush up their German and are being supported by the Ukraine Project, an independent collaboration between teachers which has for over 20 years been organizing German and English teacher exchanges between Munich and our partner city Kiev. We talked about love and the joy of commitment being a vital source of energy for anything you want to do. I’m not sure that it’s “all you need” or that “it’s easy”, but love sure makes things easier!

La Marseillaise introduces this classic Beatles song, which Der Englisch Blog declared to be the song of the day yesterday, on the 220th anniversary of Bastille Day. 2:37: See Mick Jagger singing along.

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It’s easy.
There’s nothing you can make that can’t be made.
No one you can save that can’t be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you
in time – It’s easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

There’s nothing you can know that isn’t known.
Nothing you can see that isn’t shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be.
It’s easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
All you need is love (all together now)
All you need is love (everybody)
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

  3. Hi Anne,
    Gee, thanks!!
No, seriously, I always enjoy checking out what Anne’s offering today, musikwise, in particular.
I had the Ukrainian ladies for dinner on Friday and they told me about all the interesting things you did with them.
Thanks a lot, it’s greatly appreciated.
Have a nice Sunday – hopefully weatherwise nicer than Saturday.
    Jxx
