  1. Hi Anne,
    The train one’s my favourite.
I got some nice riddles from Colleen in phonetic script – it’s a nice way of covering a few birds with the one shot. I put them on the overhead (without the answer) and they get a kick out of reading them and trying to find the answer – nice opener / closer or pace-breaker.
Eg. What animal can jump higher than a house??
    CU tomorrow evening.

  2. Jump higher than a house?? You got me.
Great idea – so you put the answer in phonetic script. Motivating. Would be nice to find phonetic script to use on this blog.

  3. PS: On Twitter, I posed this question:

“How do I get the International Phonetic Alphabet on my blog? Free or for a fee? Thanks! #EFL #IPA”

Within minutes (!) I got a response from

Aviano Gearz in India (!) saying “You can try this online keyboard for typing IPA on your blog” (

    and from

Marisa Constantinides in Greece (!) saying ” I think you can use one of the online IPA typewriters -type-copy-paste to blog or” (,

Now is that fantastic, or what!? Thank you!!
