The MELTA Christmas party yesterday was so nice!
If you’re teaching English this week, try this activity: A running “pictionary“. Divide the class into teams. Each team has to send one person to you to pick up a card with a word on it that they have to draw and let their team guess. No letters or numbers or body language allowed! When their team has guessed the word, they send another person to you to pick up a new word. I prepare a pack of 10 word cards for each team and give each team the same words, but not in the same order. Words fit the season, e.g. angel, elf, ox, star, and – very difficult – virgin. The first team to guess all of the words in the pack, wins. (Fom Briony Beaven, who showed it to us when she was still at the Münchner Volkshochschule.)
