Barack Obama had saved his biggest Virginia rally for last. For his conclusion, he told one of his favorite inspirational stories. It’s about a long drive, a rainy day and how one person can make a difference. It ends with Obama leading a cheer of “Fired up, Ready to Go!”

Democracy won. Americans were voting in numbers unprecedented since women were given the franchise in 1920. The final polls won’t be in for a few days, but it is totally clear at this point that it was the Obama campaign that got out the vote. And this is only the beginning. We have to reinvent the American Dream. It’s going to be a major job. Fired up! Ready to go!
