1. Hi Anne,
   Beautiful, she’s good – even though I’ve been hooked on Emmylou Harris in recent times, I find this lady’s voice also extremely pleasant.

   Just to clarify, you probably know anyhow, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles wrote the song and it was a top 10 hit for them in 1962.
   The Beatles covered it on their second album a year later in 1963.

4. Hi Chris, hmm, no idea. California I thought. I mean, I think Zooey Deschanel’s of Irish and French descent, but has a bona fide L.A. full-time-entertainer pedigree. She might do some accents as a part of her acting. I actually don’t really think there is anything ‘authentic’ about her. Anyway. But it’s quite entertaining watching her on Craig Ferguson, though.

7. Yep! Sorry, Chris, I should take this blogging business a bit more seriously. *straightens t-shirt*:
   She = Zooey Deschanel, an actress (eg “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”; latest: “(500) Days of Summer”) dabbling in music; Him = Matt Ward, Portland Oregon guitarist, has played with the likes of My Morning Jacket, Norah Jones, Cat Power. She & Him have made two albums. Nothing fancy. But nice.

8. Don’t worry Anne – it’s me.
   I had a friend at university, another friend’s girlfriend.
   She changed her hairstyle and i met her at a party, didn’t recognise her, flirted , thought – hey she likes me – felt very very stupid.
   Come to think of it i don’t recognise myself after a haircut.
   But if someone is in a different context, looks diffrent and sounds different i’m confused.
   Hmm, my wife is an actress, maybe thta’s why i’m so confused…..
   I saw Ms Zooey in Yes man, fell in love etc tec.
   I recognised her laugh in the TV interview but didn’t recognise her in tnhe singing clip.
   Dur.
   My daughter did INSTANTLY.
   Hmm, did someone say something about men and women and……?

9. Oh, that’s right, you blogged about Yes Man. – Maybe it has to do with eye makeup. Manliner hasn’t really caught on, but god help us women when it does.
